Email Marketing for an International School

Our speciality is working with individual business owners who do not have their own team to support them, however, every now and then we get the opportunity to work with a small team in a larger organisation who do not have the resources or approved headcount and need some outside help. In this case, we support the Marketing Manager of an International School, yet, the work we do can be applicable to any business owner.

Client Request:

To design and write the content of a monthly newsletter that kept parents and potential parents up-to-date with all of the information that was happening at the school, the student’s activities, published articles as well as upcoming events. It was important to ensure the colour in the newsletter reflected the school colours as well as reflected the design aesthetics of the marketing materials of their sister school in the UK. They wanted to use Mailchimp. MailChimp is a great, user-friendly platform, that allows you flexibility on the design of your newsletter.

Our Support:

At the beginning of the design process we provided three newsletter designs that aligned with the schools branding, marketing materials and that echoed the newsletter that was being sent out by their sister school in the UK. The Marketing Manager and School Principal chose the final design. Once the design was finalised, we scheduled into our diary to prepare content by a set date each month. Around the middle of every month we reached out to the Marketing Manager with a suggested proposal for the topics for the newsletter and also asked if there are any thing significant she would like announced.

Once the outline was finalised we would pull together the newsletter by choosing photos from their library (they took photos of different school activities so we were never short of photos to choose from), and we would draft the content for the newsletter based on the key messages and activities. Once the first draft of the newsletter was complete, we sent it to the Marketing Manager. She would share any adjustments that needed made, and once approved we’d schedule it to be sent at the end of the month.

Due to the Marketing Manager not having a team of her own, taking responsibility for the newsletter has helped her immensely especially because she’s very involved at all the events at the school.

Newsletters are a great channel to market your business, inform your clients of your latest updates, and to keep your clients in the funnel.
